Pay-to-post & Posting Contests = The Lame

I got my start in adult by joining Netpond.com through a link from their dreaded arch-enemy GetPaidForum.com (which is all about the most scammy stuff online Paid-to-click email programs, ppc search engine “we search for each other” kind of stuff and more scams - yeah I’ve been tricked I was young what can I say?).

Netpond pays you points to post (I think it’s 5/post) and I think this is kinda stupid but I understand them since they have obviously found a business model where it pays to give away nickels to all these post-whores who fuels the forum and makes it attractive for advertisers to get their stuff on there (thoughit’s not all these post whores who’ll make the sponsors sales - I’d love to see some stats from an advertising campaign on NEtpond/GFY - was it worth it?).

They’ve started a new contest that goes a little something like “Put up a ton of business threads and we’ll vote for the best ones at the end of the month”. That’s kinda cool - it increases the amount of threads that you might actually find some use for AND people might be giving away more info than normal since they have a $ incentive to do so.

But it’s screwed. There are 3 nominees for this month’s contest. One of them just hit me up on ICQ, did the usual ICQ “Hi. How are you? Good. Listen I need your help.” BS routine and I just let him go on and on about this contest and I should check out the tutorials and that I should vote and that he was XXX on there.

I talked to the dude one time before, can’t remember the conversation and he hits me up like we’re friends and I’d of course vote for a friend to earn some cash. yeah right. On days like these I just can’t get enough of the adult arena of the interweb!

5 Lies Adult Webmasters Tell Themselves

1. It’s okay to be a smut peddler - 99% of the girls in the flicks LOVE what they’re doing and wouldn’t get a half-decent job if they were able to!

2. I’m just gonna copy the rest of those guys with TGP’s/Blogs/Blog Directories (frickin’ popping up everywhere!)/Next fad and of course I too will make big $$$!

3. I’m not lazy - I just need to refresh the forum one extra time to see what that dude is gonna reply to my “I’d hit it!”/Joke of the day/I’m calling my mom out!-thread.

4. I got a brain - I just leave it besides my PC and only pick it up again when I’ve finished today’s task of making boring-ass-sales-text-on-another-template-site-that-will-make-my-surfers-run-away-in-horror and then hit the boards to bitch how I’m making no sales!

5. I sent 4000 (hitbottin’, 404 trafficin’, lame “click here now 4 FREE PORN!” TGP’ing) clicks to sponsor X and I’ve not seen a sale yet!!! Shaving CUNT of a sponsor!

Agree yes?

The Circle Jerk Of 2006

I’ve heard stories about how TGPs worked back in the day where it was all about jerking the surfer around from one TGP to another using extremely high skim which must have been very frustrating but of course geat for building huge TGP sites that probably were profitable because everything that spread its legs was back then.

Today I see a new circle jerk but this one is not going on between the webmasters and the surfers. The circle jerk of 2006 is between the webmasters and the sponsors!

The sponsors giveaway more free content to their affiliates because the affiliates demand it because that is the only way they think they can make sales: By plastering one TGP after another with XXX galleries that gives the surfer everything he wants and leaves the affiliates and sponsors with no sales - great let’s put out some more free content and see if some of it sticks this time!

Too many adult webmasters follow the tutorials, the advice of old-schoolers who’re still teaching newbies the same things they did in 2000 and generally turns their brains off when they do work it seems. And then they come running to the boards with bad conversion ratios, slamming sponsors and not realizing that they themselves are at fault for their failure.

Therefore stop the circle jerk of 2006, be creative with your sites, come up with new concepts that have newer been seen before - most importantly sell porn in a new way! And don’t tell me there are only so many ways to sell people fucking because that is just a lie you’re telling yourself. Think about it real hard, use weeks/months if you have to because once you have a real original idea that you know will work you’ll be going all the way to the top with it I’m sure!
